• Remark: The turnaround of IC 44/45 trains between Košice and Vienna is the only time when we can meet a locomotive of national carrier ZSSK at the head of a train in Austria. In the past, due to a different power supply system, Slovak electric locomotives had no way to reach Austria, but in the past diesel locomotives operated there. A number of 754 series were earmarked to run Rex trains between Bratislava and Vienna until 2008. These were also given to the Austrian signalling company Indusi, but after the delivery of the Hercules, ÖBB pressed for their replacement due to their unreliability and lack of environmental friendliness. The washed Vectron 383 104 is pictured on 14 January 2023 with train IC 44 at the departure from the district town of Bruck an der Leitha.
